Building better competitions
GOALS
Zenith International Games started out of a desire to develop an inclusive collaborative Parkour Competition Series. We believe the only way for Parkour competitions to evolve is to bring together as much of the community and give everyone a voice in developing the better competition.
Everyone has different experiences. Everyone has different ideas. We as a community need to bring these different experiences and ideas together and let them grow.
ZIG structure includes committees to focus on individual aspects of competition and the future of Parkour. These committees are made up of Parkour athletes, gym owners and others with a passion for Parkour and Freerunning.
JOIN A COMMITTEE
Everyone is eligble to apply to join an committe. All that you will need to do is to submit your request to join a committee and await an invitation from the Committee Chief.
Limitations on joining the committee may be put in place if the committee becomes too large. If that happens, your name will be put on the waiting list. As other members leave the committee, new members will be selected from the waiting list.
If your invitation is delayed because of size limitations, you may still be invited to watch committee meetings and submit ideas in writing to the Committee Chief via email.
COMMITTEES
FREESTYLE JUDGING
A highly debated topic within the Parkour and Freerunning community is the judging of Freestyle. Issues arise over fairness, stifling creativity and more. This committee’s goal is to work towards developing a method of judging Freestyle that is most fair but does not stifle the creativity of Parkour.
The current Committee Chief is Lucas Harralson of APEX School of Movement, San Diego.
If you wish to join this committee please email Lucas. In your email, include your affiliation with a gym if you have one, your experience as an athlete and your motivation for joining this committee.
His email is lucas@apex-sd.com and please put “ZIG Freestyle Judging Committee Invite” in the subject line.
EVENT SCORING
This committee will work to fine tune the scoring and judging for Skills Challenge Events and Speed Course Events. This committee will also work to improve the flow of the event itself and to create events that are marketable and simple to run.
The current Committee Chief is Jimmy Donahue of APEX School of Movement, San Diego.
If you wish to join this committee please email Jimmy. In your email, include your affiliation with a gym if you have one, your experience as an athlete and your motivation for joining this committee.
His email is jimmy@apex-sd.com and please put “ZIG Event Scoring Committee Invite” in the subject line.
